Project:

National Aquarium Blacktip Reef

The lighting design goal of the National Aquarium Blacktip Reef Exhibit was to create a dramatic visual setting above and under the water surface while addressing animal husbandry requirements of the Indo-Pacific reef display. Precise control of light color, angle, intensity and distribution was required to meet the artistic and scientific demands of the project. High and low tech dynamic lighting components illustrate the shifting relationship of light and water throughout the project as aquarium visitors view the exhibit from a range of vantage points in the 5-story Great Hall space before arriving at the under water viewing area.
