Ett Rum (a room) was an ephemeral installation that was part of the Lights in Alingsas (Alingsas, Sweden), the lighting design temporarily transformed a bank courtyard site into an outdoor room by combining fixed and dynamic lighting elements. Static Illumination provided visitors with an invitation to enter from outside. Wind and audience interaction cause lighting conditions to change over time, creating a mysterious experience for visitors who choose to enter. The project concept drew inspiration from the interaction of light and water observed in a river adjacent to the site, shown in precedent video.
This project was highly collaborative and included significant contributions by PLDA Practical Lighting Workshop participants and organizers.
