San Francisco, CA | 2021

This contemporary art gallery in San Francisco’s Chinatown neighborhood included a main gallery, a secondary reception and gallery space, and office and support spaces. Our lighting design approach focused on developing custom optical assemblies for the lighting track system and providing flexible lighting to support rotating exhibitions. To address the challenge of unifying the mezzanine offices with the double-height gallery space below, we devised a lighting solution that could be scaled to accommodate both space types while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. Our work on this project also included developing a control strategy, focusing the lighting after installation, and ensuring that the design met California’s Title 24 requirements.
