Third Dimension Exhibit

New York, NY | 2019

We focused this exhibit at the Brandt Foundation Art Building using the lighting equipment we specified as part of the base building renovation. This exhibit presented a range of contemporary works exclusively from the gallery owner’s collection. Featured in the thirty-foot-high main gallery was Urs Fischer’s wax candle sculpture, “Untitled (The Rape of the Sabine Women),” a Giambologna replica that measured over twenty feet high and was designed to melt over the course of the exhibit. Our lighting design approach included development of a control strategy that anticipated how the sculpture’s form would evolve as it melted.
