Manhattan Beach, CA | 2018
Our scope for this historic project included lighting design for a major renovation to a public aquarium and oceanographic educational facility. A multimedia entry experience welcomes visitors to exhibits that include sharks, moon jellies, moray eels, wolf eels, and touch tanks. The aquarium’s location on a pier, in a non-conditioned space open to the salt air, required corrosion-resistant light fixtures and controls. The lighting design also had to meet California’s Title 24 requirements. Our work on this project included focusing the lighting after installation.
