This mixed-use residential building serves as a gateway to the MICA campus at night. Our budget-oriented lighting design approach, which included both interior and exterior lighting, focused on establishing the building’s night identity and devising a control strategy to accommodate its lively schedule of events. The modular window system glows from within, creating different patterns based on resident use. Illuminated trees line Mount Royal and North Avenue, reinforcing the gateway intent. Apertures in the building massing provide framed views of the glowing core, accentuating the dynamic architectural forms.
